Our Story

From Isaan to Bangkok, and Today to Barcelona

When people think of Thai cuisine, many immediately think of Pad Thai or green curry. But for Thai people, the cuisine of Isaan — Thailand’s northeastern region — is one of the most beloved, known for its bold, fresh flavours, aromatic herbs and traditional ingredients.

Thai Isaan Restaurant by Madam Somtum was born from more than 40 years of family recipes and a lifelong passion for Isaan cooking. From slow-cooked pla ra and authentic som tam, her culinary journey has travelled from Isaan to Bangkok and now to Barcelona.
